About CDL

The Community District Library was created in 2004 from the Shiawassee County Library system and the Corunna Public Library. It is primarily funded by a .5 millage, which was passed in August 2004 by residents of Burns, Caledonia, Hazelton, Perry, Venice, Shiawassee Townships and the City of Corunna. The library serves 23,617 people. The City of Perry joined the district effective January 7, 2008.

Residents of those locations may borrow library materials for free. We also have a reciprocal agreement with Baker College of Owosso, Genesee and Vernon District libraries that allows their patrons to borrow materials. In-house use of library materials and the Internet are free to everyone.

A non-resident fee of $45 is required for patrons who live outside the district.

The administrative office is located on the southwest corner of Shiawassee Street and Corunna Avenue across from the Historic Shiawassee County Courthouse.

Library Board ~ The Community District Library Board meets at 7:00 p.m. on the 4th Wednesday of each month. The public is welcome to attend.
